Ten True Facts About Your Character:

1. Romulus was born to a traditional Italian family three decades ago, and has several sisters and a twin brother. By their names, it would become obvious that his parents were fans of ancient tales. His childhood was uneventful and a common story in his hometown; mother and father working together to keep the family business running, and their children helping out. It was when he turned 19 that his father passed of a natural death, mother following soon afterward that had turned his common lifestyle into something else entirely. Being the oldest in the family was no easy task for him-- the reason why he had to drop out of school which he had, until then, considered useless. Romulus lost his brother Remus and a sister, Livia, at the age of twenty to a freak accident that had to do with a shooting that happened while Remus was at the wheel. Since then, he committed himself to work completely in order to supply his six sisters with everything they needed.

2. It was the 2003 when Colosseo Hotels had gone international with the reputation of being a high-class service with several amenities that cater to all sorts of people with the same warm hospitality that can only be Italian-- or maybe even a little Roman. The CEO and founder of CIH has never shown up for an awards ceremony himself following the very first, and intends to keep it that way. The hotel is decorated with several replicas of paintings of Romans that historians have cooked up, along with statues whose quality makes the guests wonder if they really are just replicas or products of an art heist...

3. It's not a commonly known fact, but he enjoys creating art of his own. When he's not busy making meetings or attending parties that usually have a mix of potential business partners and attractive models both male and female which he would consider bringing home, Romulus likes to sit around and polish his painting, piano, or guitar skills. Before he dropped out of school, music was the only thing that kept him grounded.

4. Despite his status and age, Romulus has never married nor exclusively dated anyone. He doesn't believe in emotions and feelings getting in the way of pushing his company forward, and in turn jokingly refers to himself as married to his work. In terms of periodic bed-mates, he's indiscriminate with gender and his taste varies from person to person. The only quality that he's ever been particular about was age-- he prefers them younger, as dating an older person would, in a way, strip him from the power in the relationship.

5. Sex is a different story completely. The act is not a driving force in his life, and who he chooses to accompany him for the night he is usually not too picky about. He's considered somewhat of a playboy in the sense that there happens to be someone that comes home with him every time he's seen leaving a party of some sort.

6. Besides being fluent in Italian, (something that is made obvious by his heavy accent when he speaks English), Romulus speaks Spanish, and a little bit of French. Being an obvious lover of all things ancient and Roman, he speaks some Latin and uses phrases in regular conversation.

7. In terms of his personal life and the presses, there is much to be learned about this walking enigma. As far as the public knows, he could be married to one of the big names in the entertainment industry and have three kids. The way the press heckles him about his personal life makes him wary about meeting people outside of social gatherings full of other businessmen as tired as he is. Most of his one-night conquests are led to believe he is a man of a lower calibre and fed with the wrong name.

8. For a man who most consider to be a worn-out old fool; he has done pretty well for himself in terms of his health and physique. Since childhood he had been an enthusiast of the sport football-- or soccer to most Americans, and the sport continues to hold a place in his heart even during his hectic days of being the man he is.

9. Despite how he doesn't enjoy getting intimate with people; he's quite the social butterfly. His business thrives on partners who like to invest in his hotels and offer their services to make a guest's stay all that much better. He's generally charming outside of a boardroom setting and enjoys having get-togethers with those he's close to.

10. Finally, he has two sons that he likes to keep away from the public. (Even if they're canonically known as his grandsons heehee.) They're both in their teens now and the product of a misguided night in a dark alley. The mother of his children had dropped them off at his doorstep when they were just a few months old and he hasn't heard from her since. Romulus tells these two that their father, his brother, had passed before they could even remember him and provides them with their own home back in Florence. He could never be the adequate father figure the two of them need, so he passes himself off as their uncle.

15.02, WEDNESDAY; COLOSSEO HOTELS HEADQUARTERS, SICILY

Ah, two minutes behind schedule.

The Italian who stood an inch above six feet glanced quickly at the watch on his left hand, an eyebrow arched as the resounding ding! Of the elevator had told him to look as if he were glad to see everyone waiting in the board room. He stepped from the lift in his Ermenegildo Zegna suit—right off the designer’s workboard, this one—and took a seat at the head of the table.

They were a group of possibly the most powerful men in Italy—even the famed crime bosses would have to answer to this group of men if things had gone awry with things they were asked to do. Adjusting his collar as he leaned over and supported himself on his forearms, the Italian took one sweeping glance over the room before finally speaking.

“It’s come to my attention that the Hilton in a place called Hartsbridge has opened up shop; I hear that this place is slowly becoming quite the tourist attraction for being known as possibly the most beautiful city in the world.”

The man immediately to his right snorted; he was in his sixties, and one of the men who taught Romulus everything he knew. “When you say beautiful, Mr. Vargas, I think you might be referring to the large selection of models that seem to be moving in there.” He shifted his weight to the other arm. “That, and your sons seem to be moving there, as well.”

The brunette at the head of the table adjusted his watch, a small, crooked smirk on his face as it always was. “Then you are all aware of our plans to open up a new branch there. We have already bought out the lot right across the Hilton, and construction will begin as soon as you gentlemen all agree; we are all partners in this race to be the number one lodging service in the world, after all.” And with the flick of his wrist, several copies of the new proposal were spread all over the well-varnished table.

Within moments, everyone seemed to be nodding and removing their pens from their breast pockets. Romulus reclined in his swivel chair and watched business happen as it usually did.

Ah, Hartsbridge; what did you have in store for this egotistical man?
IC SURVEY

1.) Introduce yourself in a few sentences!
I am Romulus Vargas; perhaps you’ve heard the name before. There is much more that the media has to say about me than I do, however. How about you ask them?

2.) What's your greatest dream in life?
I’m quite satisfied with the life I have now. My dreams as a child have been realized, and I have no more that I have yet to fulfill.

3.) What is your biggest pet peeve?
That’s an odd question. Failure to deliver respect where it’s due gets me on edge. I come from a family where respect to elders is everything, you understand.

4.) Why did you come to Hartsbridge?
I wanted to get a view of the city as my latest project was erected. It’s really quite a beautiful place, and I heard beforehand that this city might outdo Vegas in its revenue one day. You can imagine the intrigue that comes hand-in-hand with that.

5.) Do you consider yourself an optimist or a pessimist? Why?
I think I’m quite the optimist. I may be my own harshest critic, but I believe that if there is something wrong with your own person, then you also have the power to correct it. A pessimist gives up before anything has even gone wrong; and I would not be in the position I am today with that kind of disposition.

6.) Do you prefer functionality or style, and why?
Style is secondary to functionality. For example, if I were to have beautiful, golden elevators installed in my hotels; wouldn’t you think they would be too heavy, coupled with suitcases and the weight of the passengers, to function for a long period of time? I’d rather have a gold-plated ceiling that is as light as possible to accommodate the most weight possible.

7.) What are two of your best qualities? Two of your worst?
Well, I’m quite resourceful and I do enjoy talking to people; but I’m quick-tempered. It’s something I’ve dealt with all my life. That, and my inability to tolerate insubordination… Or does that count as the same thing?

8.) What was your childhood like? Did you get along well with any siblings you had? What about your parents?
Ah, that is really quite personal.

9.) What is your happiest memory?
Next question, please.

10.) Describe yourself physically.
How about you just take a look? It’s free, after all.
